Varisty Lakes shelter lehigh acres, Fl hurrican Irma. Red cross organization on check in advised all they coukd not bring in food or water on Saturday September 9th 2017 they advised they has food and water water.

Over filled the shelter well beyound capacity against local law enforment, and national guards advise. While other shelters minutes away had space. Created a mass confusion and unorganized line for dinner. Ran out of enough food the for firt night serving dinner, was in a panic for breakfast and lunch the next day.

9/10/17 locked shelter down around 10 am, served lunch consisting of 3 chicken nuggets and a frozen juice. Around noon. By 2 irma started to come in. An announcement came across not to flush toliets, water as cut off.

By 11pm no water no food, doirs locked, people passing out from dehydration, *** and urine on the floors, people vomiting. Red cross leader refused to feed or issue water or open doors so people could get their supplies that redcross refused to allow them to bring in. (Sealed packs of water, and non parishable food. National guard and local sheriff's opened doors and mandated water to be issued as an entire upper level floor everyone was passing out and throwing up.

No air conditioning. The leader of this organization was rude and yelling at people and making racial remarks. Stood before a line of people stating stating he was ordered not to give foid or water so no one would use the rest room. A woman spoke up telling him local law enforcement and natuonal guard were not at fault and ordered redcoss to open doors and allow people to get their supplies and allow air to flow.

Redcross gad no organization on hiw many or who were lodged, people who never filled out check forms. Refused food and water to be brought into the shelter,no generators providing airflow, no water, restrooms not kept cleaned, cleaning crews just sprayed fablous on walls and floors without mopping or wiping. Sewer, could not stand to hold the over capicity of the shelter. People ordered not to flush, people urinating on floors,*** on floors down hallways, vomit on floors and over 2500 people locked in a building without air ventilation.

Redcross had no food or water refused to allow people to obtain supplies they had to be brought in!

Thankfully the National guard and law enforcement took charge over this shelter as the redcross was a big failure!! Please dont donate to this organization as they have no compassion and place people in hazardous and deplorable conditions.
